Ensuring Pharmaceutical Product Success through Excipient QbD Efforts

نویسندگان

چکیده

It isessential to understand excipients’ critical material attributes. A QbDstrategy that includes historical data analysis and experimental work has beenused in functional excipients such as Hypromellose (HPMC) develop thisunderstanding. The use of multivariate helped identify excipientvariability the support it could provide improve final product robustness.

Potential aspects of chitosan as pharmaceutical excipient.

Interest in use of the polysaccharide chitosan as a pharmaceutical excipient by different dose routes and for a number of applications is not new but it still does not appear to be present in any marketed drugs. Also a novel excipient in a new formulation requires a lot of safety consideration. Published literature showed that chitosan has low oral toxicity and prior human exposure has occurred...

Modified Starch and Its Potentials as Excipient in Pharmaceutical Formulations

These are additives used to convert pharmacologically active compounds into pharmaceutical dosage forms suitable for administration to patients [1]. Although excipients are the non-active ingredients, they are essential in the successful production of acceptable solid dosage forms such as tablets and powders. For example, the lack of filling materials would make it exceedingly challenging, if n...
